EVERYTHING CHANGES EVENTUALLY
QUOTE OF THE DAY: "If animals could speak, the dog would be a blundering outspoken fellow; but the cat would have the rare grace of never saying a word too much." Mark Twain
THIS IS: National Smile Month
Everything changes eventually. I remember the fun I had at the small dog run every morning. Jesse, Beauty, Buster and me would meet about 7:30. It was fun. The moms would bring treats and we'd have a snack before breakfast. We played chase and got some exercise.
My day got even better when mom took me for my daily walk.
In the evening, after supper, mom would take me to the big dog run where we'd meet Jesse. We would play chase again, .and then chased the squirrels up trees. We came close,. but we never caught one.
Then one morning, Jesse never came. His mom and he went back went home. Beauty must have changed her schedule, and Buster, who was the oldest, passed away.
Moms still took me for walks until one day she went out with dad and he didn't bring her home. After several weeks, he took me to see her. It was the big building with lots and lots of bedrooms. Dad called it a nursing home/rehab center. As we walked the halls, people called out to him. They wanted to pet me. That was fun. But when I got to mom's room, I jumped on the bed and gave her a ton of kisses. I didn't leave her side. I snuggled with her on the bed. Mom, dad and to me went for a walk outside later. Dad pushed mom in this chair that had wheels. She couldn't walk. Oh my, another change.
Mom still can't walk well enough to take me for a walk on a leash, but dad takes mom and me for a walk around the block. It's nice but very slow. We still go to the big dog run, and I occasionally see other dogs there, and I can play with a few of them. Some dogs don't like other dogs and other dogs are loners. I love other dogs and look forward to playing with them.
But I really miss Jesse, and I hate it when things change.
