QUOTE OF THE DAY: "The middle of the road is for yellow lines and armadillos." Jim Hightower
THIS IS: It's National Dog Days and National grilling, hot dog and ice cream month
A few nights ago, mom dad and me went for a walk. When we got near this one house, we usually see one or two cats who run away when they see me. I don't know why. They have a dog as a sibling.
Then, one night something strange happened. The cats morphed into an entirely different species. They were about the same size, but they had shorter legs and no fur. I scared one away, who was rather slow, but the other one kept creeping closer to me and my family. Mom tried to use her cane to force it into a different direction, but it just coming at us. There was nothing to be afraid of, because I was there to protect my family.
Upon closer inspection, I noticed that the animal was dark and had a hard shell. Mom said, Look, it's an armadillo."
A what? I tried to get close to it to see if it wanted to play, but dad pulled me away. I fought a bit, but in the end, I gave in to dad. With such a hard shell, I didn't think I could hurt it. But dad was afraid it would hurt me. How sweet. Dad loves me.
I still would have liked play with it. Well, you win some you lose some. That's the life of a dog.
