QUOTE OF THE DAY:  "Dogs feel very strongly that they should always go with you in the car, in case the need should arise for them to bark violently at nothing right in your ear."  Dave Barry

THIS IS:  Dog days of Summer (July 3
to August 11)

ARF,ARF, ARF. I was so excited last week to be going on a car trip.  It didn't even bother me that it was to the vet.

I was weighed in, had my heart listen to, had my ears and eyes checked, and then that stick was stuck up my rear. ARF, ARF, ARF.  I needed my kennel medication. It was stuck up my nose. I was none too happy with that.

I thought we were done. I was ready to go. then I heard the words I hate. Mom said, "Daisy needs her nails clipped ."

ARF, ARF, ARF. I'd show them. meanies!  ARF, ARF, ARF. (Mom and dad didn't know I could use swearwords .)

I think that the Vet was very proud of himself.  But I showed him my teeth and scared him.  Little did he know that I wouldn't really bite him,  But he hurt me.  My toenail bled.  When he tried to put antiseptic and my nail, I bucked.  He got scared again and had mom put a muzzle on me. That didn't last long, it was humiliating.  I pawed it off in record time.  But in the meantime, the Vet won that round.  He got the medication on me.

For good measure, I showed him my teeth again. he went slinking to the back room. I walked out of the examination room proudly.

I am not a mean dog. I just  don't like having my feet touched. Do you like being manhandled?
I sure don't.  . ARF, ARF, ARF.

P.S.   This new voice recognition program is fun.   It even automatically bleeps out the bad words.

  1. Oh Daisy, we don't mind going to the vets. We are happy to see our vet. He gives us treats and has pretty girls come and hold us and talk nicely to us. They can do whatever they want to us. Then they tell our mom and dad that we are healthy and very good dogs. Boy, do we have them "snowed". Actually, we are good most of the time except last night when we dragged one of our beds out to the living room and decided to have a knock down drag out fight over it for 20 min. Mom and Dad thought it was funny for awhile and then put a stop to it. Regardless of where you are going, the car rides are great. Decker and Digger
