SHOPPING FUN

Several weeks ago, mom went shopping with daughter-in-law, Dani I will let her tell you about it.
Don and son Mike took the kids, Owen and Sydney, to the movies while Dani and I went to have a girls day and shop and spend money. We arrived at the outlet mall a little before 10 o'clock , which I thought was early, but the parking lot was practically filled.
The first order of yhe day was to get me settled in the wheelchair. Dani had to put the foot rests on. Her first try was upside down and we giggled as we tried to picture me putting my feet upside down and her pushing me from store to store. Dani got it right on the second try and we were on our way.
Where to start first. There were so many shops. 126 according to the website. We could do real damage to the credit cards. Our first purchase was in Vera Bradley. We stopped in the Guess store and I found a pretty black blouse. We saw pull-up jean's on the rack. They were so cute. We took size large into the dressing room and that's when the fun began. I tried on the first pair and couldn't get them up over my hips. Dani's turn and she had the same problem. It was too funny. Two grown women trying on clothes sized for a 12-year-old.
It was kind of comical watching Dani struggle to open a door while keeping her hand on the wheelchair so I didn't go rolling backwards. The task is somewhat undefeatable without help. But plenty of people offer their services and if they didn't, Dani would just ask a stranger for help. Even at lunch, a stranger helped us out. Every table was taken and Dani and I were weighing our options when a woman at a table asked if we'd like hers. She said she was getting ready to leave. iI was perfect.
As we were leaving, I took us to the wrong parking lot. Dani was pushing the wheelchair with her arms loaded with shopping bags from Aerosol and Coach. We both bought shoes and purses. (What woman in her right mind can pass up a 50% off sale, especially in Coach.) What we didn't realize was that the wheelchair wheels were rubbing against the shopping bags and tearing them. It had rained. We got to the car and one bag completely fell apart. The contents fell onto the wet pavement. Shoes and a purse together with a receipt fell onto the road, and of course into a puddle. A nice family walking by helped us pick up the boxes but I couldn't stop laughing. ( I'm laughing now picturing the scenario.")
It was a fun filled girl's day out of shopping and lunch. We are already looking forward to next year's visit.
The ride home is another story. Accidents, detours and not fun.
